Halo
Gentle with so much love to give
Bay Of Islands Animal Rescue proudly presents…Halo!
Halo is a beautiful 1½-year-old Huntaway cross with a gentle nature and so much love to give. Through no fault of her own, Halo found herself at the pound after her owner was no longer able to care for her and three other dogs. She spent several weeks waiting patiently for a family, receiving plenty of interest but, sadly, no one took her home. Due to severe overcrowding, and underfunding, Halo was only moments away from being euthanised. The pound team, who had all grown very fond of her, fought to give her another chance. One of the veterinarians who works with the pound has fostered her to save her life.
She has been an absolute delight. She has settled in beautifully at her foster home. Halo happily relaxes in her crate (or soaks up attention from the nurses and reception staff!). She is quiet, calm, and hasn’t howled. Everyone who meets her comments on how sweet and gentle she is.
Halo absolutely loves people and enjoys being close to her humans. She is intelligent, eager to learn, and highly food motivated, making her a great candidate for continued training. In just a few days she has already learnt so much. She travels well in the car, doesn’t get carsick, walks nicely on a lead, and has lovely manners.

The adoption fee for Halo is $380.
A rehoming fee is charged to help us recoup part of the cost of your pet’s care during their stay with us, but by no means does this cover the full cost. Therefore, we are always delighted to receive donations, no matter how small!
